Department of Special Research Collections (SRC) in the UCSB Library) with consideration of the group's founding scope statement:

"The UC Santa Barbara Library has agreed to preserve and make accessible historical materials related to the tragedy of May 23, 2014 in the Department of Special Collections. To accomplish this goal, two library representatives are working with the Ad-Hoc Memorial Preservation Group to identify, acquire, preserve, and describe materials related to the incident. The group has been actively collecting two types of materials in both digital and physical formats: 1) a representative sample of condolence items and 2) records documenting the University's response to the event. The first meeting of the Ad-Hoc Group was held on June 13, 2014. Since that date the membership has expanded so that the group has representatives of campus administration, the Library, the faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and UCSB Alumni."

While the collection is now processed and subject to the collection practices of the Department of Special Research Collections, this group may be involved in activities to further engage faculty, staff, and community members in continuing memorialization and in educational engagement activities related to the tragedy and the memorial collection.

The amateur radio club provides access to our club radio station (W6RFU) for any licensed amateur (ham) radio operator. Assistance is available to help obtain a license, to learn to operate the equipment, and learn protocols for making contact with other stations. We offer opportunities frequently to participate in contests where many can take shifts to operate. We also schedule occasional meetings with subjects of general interest.
UCSB has hosted this call sign as a club call since 1940 making us one of if not the oldest campus organization. We now have an additional call sign used for radio contests: N6RA. This belonged to a community member who was very generous and helped our club to be what it is today.

Provide access for students, staff, and community colleagues to a first class amateur radio station. Undergraduates are also invited to participate but would not be eligible to serve as officers. This station, with emergency power available, is a resource for communication in case of disasters.

The Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (APIA) is a collective of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI)
staff and faculty at the University of California Santa Barbara that aims to create a supportive,
proactive, and knowledge sharing community in order to ensure a welcoming, safe, and
inclusive campus for the AAPI identified individuals by promoting growth of staff and faculty
while supporting students through collaborative efforts.

The Gaucho Mentor Connection program provides participants the opportunity for personal and professional development, networking, and skill acquisition through peer-to-peer mentorship. The program encourages an atmosphere conducive to learning and exploring new ideas whereby participants develop untapped potential, to the benefit of the individuals and the campus as a whole. The mentorship program empowers staff to be active contributors to UCSB's culture of interdisciplinary collaboration, strengthening interdepartmental networks across the university.

The LGBTQ Staff & Faculty Collective promotes a welcoming campus community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer staff and faculty at UC Santa Barbara through providing support, resources, and events for LGBTQ employees. This purpose will be achieved through quarterly member meetings, monthly events, mentorship opportunities, and a member directory. This collective has and will continue to seek on-going institutional support from the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, Human Resources, and the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Men* Advocating for Gender Equity (MAGE) is an interdisciplinary group of men-identified staff and faculty at UCSB committed to personal and collective action in support of women on campus. Recognizing the existence of gender inequity, we will actively engage in targeted activities to measurably improve the climate for women across our campus. We recognize gender inequity as one facet of social injustice, which together with other types of injustices (e.g. racial, socioeconomic, cultural, political), eats away at the roots of national contentment and prosperity. While we will specialize and focus on causes of, and remedies for, gender inequity, we will strive to remain cognizant of other injustices and how they impact our work.

Staff Assembly is UCSB's chapter of the system wide Council of University of California Staff Assemblies, or CUCSA. It is an organization within all the UC campuses as well as the Office of the President and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. UCSB's Staff Assembly is sponsored by the office of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services. Its mission is to support the research, teaching, and community service mission of UCSB by serving in an advisory capacity to the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, senior officers, and other campus organizations seeking staff consultation.
