The UCSB Masculinities Project presents The Growth Group Series! These four intentional sessions take place during the lunch hour (lunch provided for those that register) and are open for anyone to unpack and reflect on masculinity, with an emphasis on its intersection with a different subject each time: race + culture (4/11), misogyny + sexism (5/9), substance use (5/23), and male friendships (6/6). During these sessions we’ll support and challenge each other, as we deconstruct harmful narratives of masculinity, to develop a strong sense of self and connection with others in our lives. Dive deep into your feelings and express them in a healthy and positive way, as you build solidarity with the group through attending the sessions.

To attend all The Growth Group sessions, you MUST register on Shoreline no later than Monday April 8th. By registering for The Growth Group, you are registering to commit to attending all four sessions. All members of the UCSB community are welcome and this is a CALL TO ACTION for men to join this space.

This series is co-sponsored by: Campus Advocacy, Resources, & Education (CARE), Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Gauchos For Recovery, Health & Wellness (H&W), Office of Black Student Development (OBSD), Resource Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity (RCSGD), and the Women’s Center.

For questions, please email CARE Associate Director of Prevention Sven Rundman at srundman@ucsb.edu.
