Do you ever feel like you've "fooled" those around you into thinking you're competent? Do you sometimes think that your success is due to dumb luck or a mistake? You might be experiencing imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success. This can cause persistent feelings of being a fraud, fake, or imposter. Importantly, imposter syndrome is not simply an individual issue. It is a systemic problem in which the norms of institutions make marginalized individuals feel like they don't belong. In this breakout session, you will learn how imposter syndrome manifests and how to fight those feelings of double and insecurity on both the systemic and personal level.
