The Women's Center is excited to invite you to a Non-Traditional Mother's Day Celebration. The event, "Nurturing This Space: An Open Mic to Celebrate All Mothers," hopes to bring together all members of the community to celebrate and recognize all mothers, not limited to biological mothers. We are looking to create a space for queer kinships, chosen family, drag mothers, trans mothers, siblings, etc. that have nurtured us into the people we are today. We invite the UCSB community to come perform poems, songs, drag, short stories, anything creative really! If you are not a performer, stop by to watch our peers take the stage and enjoy some pizza, snacks, and beverages on a lovely Friday evening!

The event will take place on May 6th 2022 at 5pm in the Multicultural Center Lounge.

We invite YOU to celebrate nurturers in any creative manner. We are looking for:
-Poets
-Drag Queens
-Singers
-Dancers
-Short Stories
-All and any creatives!

If you are interested in performing please sign up here before the event.

If you are unsure what you would like to perform, we can provide poems or short stories that are pre-selected to fit the theme that would be open to be read. Additionally, if you are unsure about signing up, we will have open slots DAY OF to get up on the stage!

To register to attend the event (no participation required) please RSVP on Shoreline.
