Flyer for First-Generation slash EOP Graduation Celebration

The First-Gen Graduation/EOP Celebration is an event that will recognize EOP and first-gen graduating seniors. This event is meant to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating as first-generation college students. The event will include a keynote speaker that will congratulate and inspire these students on their accomplishments and on their new journey beyond UCSB. The event will also include a banquet dinner, welcome addresses from staff, student speeches and a slideshow that showcases First-generation graduating seniors. Students that RSVP and attend the event will have an opportunity to receive a EOP/First-Gen stole.
This event is in collaboration with ONDAS, TSC, SEAL, Career Services, and the Successful Student Transitions Office.

Giovanna "Gigi" Gonzalez is a TikTok influencer, financial educator, and author of the bestselling book Cultura and Cash. During The Great Resignation, she quit her 10 year corporate career in financial services to pursue her true passion: teaching financial literacy to young adults.

Gigi teaches personal finance and career navigation for First Gen at various organizations and on her TikTok account @thefirstgenmentor. She was named 40 under 40 by the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement, "Latinx to Watch" by Hispanic Executive Magazine and Top 25 Creator by Fast Company.

She graduated from UCSB in 2011 with a B.A in Business Economics, and lives in Chicago with her spouse and their dog Bailey.
