QT API-SSWANA Potluck

The RCSGD, MENASA Resource Center and MultiCultural Center are collaborating to bring you our first ever QT Asian, Pacific Islander, South and Southwest Asian, North African cultural potluck! Taking place during AAPI Heritage Month and MENASA Culture Week, this event is to celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of QT API-SSWANA folks. People at these intersections have unique experiences that are often overlooked, so we want to honor these folks and help foster community over a celebratory meal that represents our diverse cultures.

Register for the event on Shoreline to attend and complete the attached Google Form if you are interested in contributing food or beverages. If you provide food, you will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a $25-50 gift card!

MENASA Bazaar 2022

Get a blast of Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian music, fun and culture at this year's MENASA Bazaar! Join us for a day of activities, festivities, and cultural celebration at the SRB Faculty Lawn from 1-4pm, in collaboration with the MENASARC's many student organizations!

Inspired by the Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian marketplaces where this festive event gets its name, this annual bazaar is a tradition initiated and maintained by the MENASA student communities here at UCSB. The entire UCSB community is welcome to become more culturally aware and informed of the cuisines, music, dances and festivities celebrated in the cultures of our MENASA student community. This event will emphasize the diversity of cultures and identities that make up the mosaic that is the MENASA community on campus. The Bazaar will feature "booths" for each student organization or individual student who are representing a Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian cultural group and offers an opportunity for students to join others in collectively embracing their cultures through playing an instrument, giving out a type of food, or even showing the designated types of dress of his/her ethnic group. While this event is open to all members of the UCSB community, it will center the cultures and experiences of MENASA students on our campus that encourages development in understanding one another's cultures and solidarity across cultural differences.
