The purpose of the GRFP is to ensure the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States and is one of the most preeminent honors that a young scholar can receive. In addition to joining a league of exceptional scholars dedicated to shaping the future of science and engineering in the United States, the GRFP provides research security and freedom by providing graduate students with three years of financial support inclusive of an annual stipend of $37,000. The NSF is interested in funding more than great research: you and your work must contribute to the greater good, ensuring that your work resonates beyond academia and into the broader community. Let us walk you through this style of writing and prepare you to craft a winning set of statements.
Join us for an informative session co-hosted by the Graduate Division and the Office of Research, where we'll guide you through the application process, from eligibility criteria to the essential components of your application package. During this session, you'll have the opportunity to learn a framework for crafting compelling statements and gain insights into what evaluators look for in a successful statement.
This session is open to undergraduate and graduate students in STEM and social sciences (including education research on science learning). Students who are not applying this upcoming year but may in the future are also encouraged to attend.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to set yourself up for success in graduate school and beyond. Mark your calendars and come explore how you can become a prestigious NSF GRFP fellow with graduate writing specialist (and former GRFP winner), Dr. Mia Nowotarski.
