Every year in November, campuses across the nation celebrate National First-Gen Day on or around November 8th. National First-Gen Day is an opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness of the first-generation college student experience.

As you may or may not know, 37% of the undergraduate student body are first-generation college students, and 15% of the graduate student body are first-generation college students at UCSB. To find out more about UCSB's First-Gen initiatives, check out: https://firstgen.ucsb.edu/.

This year, in honor of National First-Generation Day SEAL, EOP, ONDAS, & Career Services are excited to announce that we will be hosting a First-Gen Fall Social on Tuesday, Nov 7th in order to support students as they build and foster their First-Gen community on campus!

The Fall Social will be a time for the First-Generation student community to build connections with other first-generation folks across campus and establish their networks with campus departments and student organizations.
