Free | Friday | 12 –12:45 pm | Oct 30 | Pee, Poo and Periods in the Outdoors

Hosted by Kirsten Cook

Learn natural history and eco-friendly ethics!

UCSB Adventure Programs is very proud to offer a place-based Zoom-workshop series by our own staff naturalist, Kirsten Cook, designed to promote nature awareness, develop healthy outdoor ethics and increase knowledge about local ecosystems within our community.

Pee, Poo and Periods in the outdoors-- The purpose of this workshop is to learn more about how to stay healthy and care for oneself in the outdoors, as well as how to help others out. This workshop is for anyone of any sex or gender, because even if you don't have a vagina, you might know someone who does!

Come join us for discussions and activities on a host of fascinating topics including plant and animal identification with risk awareness, local indigenous ethnobotany and history, ocean and seaside biota and ecosystems, fire ecology, common natural hazards, Leave No Trace principles (invasive species, respecting Wildlife, outdoor ethics,) sustainable foraging, local geology and geography, as well as natural history on a variety of Adventure Programs destinations regularly offered throughout the year such as the Channel Islands, Los Padres National Forest, Joshua Tree, Yosemite and the Colorado River! With so much more to learn about and explore!

These will be weekly, 30-45 minute interactive Zoom-call workshops, presented by our Adventure Programs staff.

Join us each week for another exciting topic on our place based nature series!
