Rare and Endangered Species of the Santa Barbara Area-- This workshop is intended to increase awareness of rare and endangered animal species that can be found locally. We will also discuss how they became endangered, how to reduce impact, and more.
Come join us for discussions and activities on a host of fascinating topics including plant and animal identification with risk awareness, local indigenous ethnobotany and history, ocean and seaside biota and ecosystems, fire ecology, common natural hazards, Leave No Trace principles (invasive species, respecting Wildlife, outdoor ethics,) sustainable foraging, local geology and geography, as well as natural history on a variety of Adventure Programs destinations regularly offered throughout the year such as the Channel Islands, Los Padres National Forest, Joshua Tree, Yosemite and the Colorado River! With so much more to learn about and explore!
These will be weekly, 30-45 minute interactive Zoom-call workshops, presented by our Adventure Programs staff.
