Celebración de la Familia 2022

¡Bienvenidxs! Welcome! Celebración de la Familia 2022 is a bilingual (English/Spanish) event for Latinx/e students and their families during the UCSB Parent Family Weekend. Join us to learn about campus resources and connect with campus organizations, students, staff, and faculty in a great celebración! We share cultural food, music, guest speakers, and live performances by local and student artists. 


This historical event was part of a list of demands from a collective of Latinx undergraduate and graduate students that came together as the V.O.C.E.R.O.S. de UCSB (Voices Of the Community, En Resistencia, Organizing Solidarity) in April 2016. They called on the university to institute a Latinx Parent Weekend to increase our visibility on campus and ease the transition into higher education for Latinx students. Since 2017, EOP has worked collaboratively with student organizations and departments to host this event. This event normally includes a full day of activities including activist tours, workshops, and a celebratory luncheon. Activist Tour:
Join us from 10–11 am for a student-led Activist Tour of UCSB. This tour visits historic UCSB buildings and recounts the events that have helped empower students of color and underrepresented individuals.

Parent Workshop:
Please join us from 11:15–12:30 pm in a Student and Parent Workshop from 11–12 pm. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn about campus resources and connect with current UCSB students and their families.

Lunch: 
Please join us in this Luncheon from 1–3 pm to celebrate and honor the diverse Latinx community at UCSB with LIVE performances by local student artists and groups, guest speakers, refreshments, and traditional foods. All ages are welcome.
